I am 56 year old qualified teacher, born in South Africa. Teaching is my passion. I also love to take long runs and hikes. My husband and I do not have children of our own. We are married for 14 years now. We live in George, a town situated in the Garden Route. We follow a healthy lifestyle and have a positive out look on life.عني كمعلّم
I have a HDE qualification, that is a 4 year diploma in teaching. I love teaching languages, especially to foreign tongue users. I taught English to Chinese, Xhosa, and Afrikaans students. Currently I am teaching 2 Turkish students to speak Afrikaans. I draw up my own lessons, focusing on communication. Afrikaans is a relative new language and is 1 of the 11 official languages in South Africa. I am excited to teach the whole world about my mother tongue.دروسي وأسلوب تدريسي
I believe in step by step learning and teaching. My lesson starts with "Keywords" which will be used in the lesson. Then I recap the new vocabulary and start building sentences and questions. The student has ample time to practice reading and writing while working through the lesson. I do Revision after every 3 or 4 lessons done.موادي الخاصة بالتدريس

I just had a great lesson with Tanya focusing on food vocabulary (Lesson 9), and it was so much fun! Tanya made the topic really engaging by incorporating practical examples and encouraging me to use the new words in sentences.
The lesson was well-paced, and she took the time to ensure I understood everything before moving on. I particularly enjoyed how we practiced pronunciation and learned how to talk about different meals and ingredients – it’s such a useful topic!
I left the lesson feeling more confident and excited to use my new Afrikaans vocabulary in everyday conversations. Highly recommend Tanya to anyone learning Afrikaans – today’s lesson was another reminder of how amazing she is!
