My name is Abdullah (Short name is Abodi).
I am Syrian and I graduated from Al Baath University with a degree in Arabic literature. Currently, I am working for an NGO as a translator, as I am fluent in English, Arabic and Turkish. Teaching is my passion and I would like to transfer my passion to you. I love having general conversations about culture, languages, and history.
As for my leisure time, I love playing table tennis and I am good at it :) I love reading Arabic novels and I can recommend some nice Arabic books to read....عني كمعلّم
I believe the best way to learn a language is to love it. Yes, I learned English and Turkish this way.
I started teaching Arabic by volunteering at Small Project Istanbul (SPI), an NGO which helps displaced Syrians in Istanbul. Many volunteers at SPI were interested in learning Arabic and I was a perfect match for them. They encouraged me to become a teacher as they believed in my teaching methods. That was the reason I began teaching on Italki in February, 2017.
I am an easy going, flexible teacher. I enjoy being a community teacher because I prefer conversation to grammar which is why I am also working at Conversations Unbound: an NGO that connects students from America with Arabic. دروسي وأسلوب تدريسي
We will talk about our lives, our hobbies, etc. All the while, I will be introducing new words and correcting your mistakes. Our goal is to make your conversation and speaking skills as natural as possible with playing some games

Abodi is seriously the best Arabic teacher I've ever had! He is always professional, yet so much fun. I highly recommend him to anyone looking to improve their Arabic, regardless of their level!

Ustaz Abodi is a really excellent teacher and was very helpful in getting arabic lessons setup so that we could learn in a more productive manner, he was able to clearly communicate the whole lesson plan and articulate exactly what it is were doing and how its going to affect our language course. Ive had many Ustaz over the course of my studies with high level of PHDs and Ustaz Ubodi is by far the most comforting to speak to over the camera.

Excellent lesson as always. Abodi explains everything very clearly using examples and is very patient. Lessons are always interesting and Abodi is positive and makes lessons enjoyable.

I just completed my first lesson with Abodi and enjoyed it a lot! He structured the lesson well and described a strategy for helping me improve my skills over a series of steps. We did several different types of exercises during the lesson including practice with introductions, a word game, and practice with general conversation. Thank you Abodi - looking forward to our next lesson.
