Hi, my name is Candy and I am from Shanghai, China. I have been living in Japan for 11 years. After I graduated from university with a PhD degree in Theoretical Physics and Chemistry, I realized that communicating with people suits my personality much more strongly as opposed to doing academic research work alone. My 7+ years of experience in global marketing and sales stands me in good stead for teaching Business Japanese/English. I love to help people and I always have a fervent passion for languages and cultures. I have been teaching languages for 8 years. I speak English, Chinese, Japanese and conversational Spanish. Besides work and languages, I like to dance Salsa.عني كمعلّم
I personally believe that the best way to master a foreign language is to expose yourself to it at every opportunity and simultaneously push yourself to use it as much as possible. Conversing with friendly people in your target language under relaxing circumstance could be an excellent approach to hone language skills. In the class I focus on speaking, pronunciation, grammar, vocabulary and listening practice. I am happy to answer your questions, give suggestions and examples, and also share you with additional resources for your further study out of class.

Excellent lesson as always with Candy. Her teaching style is informative. Cultural insights are a part of learning any language. The lessons help me make the connection between culture and language, which is as important as learning the language. When that connection is made, it aids with vocabulary retention as well as recall. I'm very grateful for the time and effort Candy invests in teaching Japanese. Kudos 👏

Wonderful blend of pushing me to use and understand Japanese with explaining concepts and words clearly in English when I needed. When you have a Sensei whose personality brings the lesson to life and is adept at explaining grammar rules, the vocabulary words are no longer just foreign words on a page or screen. You do your best to learn because you want to know the language and the culture. Wow! Thank you, Candy Sensei!
