Hello! I’m a Sinhala tutor who *loves* helping travelers, culture enthusiasts, and curious minds connect with Sri Lanka. Having learned Japanese and Hindi myself, I deeply understand the *"aha!"* moments—and frustrations—of language learning.
My specialty? **Making Sinhala feel alive** through speaking practice, local idioms, and cultural tidbits (ask me about *kottu roti* or ancient temples!). Whether you’re prepping for a trip or just adore languages, I’ll be your friendly guide.

I am a TESOL-TEFL certified teacher. I have completed teacher training courses on the British Council website (www.teachingenglish.org.uk). Previously, I used to work as a computer trainer at a computer institute and also have about a year of teaching experience online. As someone who's been learning different languages, I have gained a deep understanding of the challenges that language learners face. I love creating personalized lesson plans that are just right for each student. So I always make sure to meet my students' needs. I would start with basic Sinhala lessons such as the alphabet (if necessary), basic grammar, and day-to-day conversational Sinhala sentences, and then smoothly move on to advanced lessons. I will provide PDF notes and whatever effective materials I can provide for learners. Most importantly, I will pay attention to the demands and needs of the students. The beginner stage comes with many things we don’t understand, and it requires a lot of patience. Nayana-sensei is an outstanding instructor who helps learners get through this stage. Once again today, I discovered the beauty of Sinhala :)

I am profoundly impressed by Nayana's teaching skills. She makes you love the language and the learning process becomes natural and easier with her. My first objective is to learn Sinhala with pleasure and I can already tell, after only two courses with Nayana, that I am enjoying the process a lot.
