She is very well prepared for the class explains to you the weekly goals of what you will learn, and also very educated in formal and informal ways to speak the language. Two thumbs up. Ruth is an amazing tutor! She's very punctual, interactive, and connects well with students making learning Tagalog fun. She's also very patient and helpful with correcting mistakes since learning a new language is always hard. Trying different methods and options of teaching hard concepts to students is what I really appreciate about her. I've had lessons with her for over a year and she never gave up me no matter how many times I made mistakes until I became more consistent in proper grammer. My Tagalog is MUCH better and more comfortable than when I first started. If you want to become fluent and speak like a Filipino native, then she's the perfect tutor for you!

Over the years, I've taken 285 lessons on iTalki. I have to say that April has really stood out as a great teacher. She is spending time outside of class preparing materials to make our classes better. She is always happy and energetic. I can't say enough good things about her.
