Hi, My name is Hüma and I teach Turkish on italki. I am from Turkey and I live on the west coast of Turkey.
I like reading, travelling, listening to music. Upmost, I love teaching because each student is a light in my life and I don't only teach but learn a lot from my students.عني كمعلّم
I have been a governmental English teacher primarily at high schools and also at secondary schools and primary schools with different curricula. For 3 years I worked as a face to face lecturer at Anadolu University Open Education Faculty ELT Program Teachers. In addition to being a teacher at schools, I also gave private lessons and taught both English and Turkish - to foreigners who live in Turkey and want to learn Turkish-. Besides I worked online for 1.5 year during pandemia.
I have exprience teaching to a wide range of age groups;preschool, primary /secondary and high schools and adults.

First, we will determine your level, goals needs in your target language.either orally during our class, or through a placement test before our first lesson. Our studies will be led according to your set goals, after you pass a specific exam or achieve a personal target. I determine a specialised lesson plan for your needs. The classes will be interactive. You will receive visiual and audial materials after each lesson and also the notes from our lesson. Yıou will also receive assignments.موادي الخاصة بالتدريس

Seminar Certificate - Ministry of National Education, İzmir Directorate - 2011I accomplished the 30 hour of this teacher training course. It was on English Teaching Programmes Methods and Techniques. I improved my teaching skills after the 6th year of my teaching.

2000 - 2003
English LecturerThis was a programme between Anadolu University Open Education Faculty and Turkish Ministry of National Education in order to educate and graduate English teachers for the lacking positions at schools. I worked as a lecturer to teach English at the face to face part of this programme for 3 years. I taught Writing, Reading and Speaking skills and also I was in the exam commision of the Speaking exams.

Hüma is a wonderful teacher! Her lessons are thoughtfully planned and well-constructed. They are also challenging and a lot of fun, and the hour flies by amazingly fast. I also appreciate the helpful tips and additional resources for improving my listening comprehension skills. Very happy to have found Hüma!

The highlight of my week! We covered so much in our lesson today and Hüma provided me with relevant resources to improve my weak areas which we identified in our last lesson. Although structured, our lessons are filled with so much variety which I love ☺️
