Mark

Really like working with Mark. Aside from clearly talking and explaining the pronunciation and grammar, it's also possible to discuss current Chinese culture and media, which I appreciate. I think it's good to learn more about the country and its culture as it makes learning Chinese easier.

Covers a lot of topics, helps with increasing your conversational confidence. Corrects you and explains to make sure you comprehend. Uses examples liberally. Encouraging and gives positive feedback.

Mark does an excellent job of teaching me how to better structure sentences more "authentically" and is super quick to find out how to express the things I want to say in Chinese. I have already improved so much in my speaking especially, and I think it's in part because of how attentive of a teacher Mark is, but also because he's super fun to talk to! I like that I have a job of how I want to structure class, whether it's in a more systemic way or if I want casual conversation. Mark also always solicits feedback on the class and teaching style which I really appreciate. Overall, I think a huge part in being consistent with language learning is to find someone who makes it fun. Mark does just that, and I definitely am glad I decided to start learning from him! Highly recommend!

Mark was great in intro lesson! We set the expectations for what I wanted out of the lesson and he geared the hour to exactly that. Very helpful and provided useful and clear direction! Highly recommended.
