As a teacher I am
1: I'm patient and kind, and I help keep the conversation fun and lively.
2: My classes have a calm and happy atmosphere.
3: My goal is to increase your “confidence” and “joy” in speaking Japanese!
4: I use many words and phrases that native speakers actually use!
5: I will improve your conversation skills and motivation!
* My classes are mostly conversational. I recommend that you study grammar with an expert teacher.
Of course, questions are always welcome.
*A2 or above is recommended.

Do you worry about making mistakes when you talk with your friends in a cafe?
1: Relax! Let's start our class!(Close your textbook in this class)
2: Choose to talk “with your friends (TAME-GO) “ or “with neighbors or strangers (DESU/MASU).”
3: Relax again! Don't be afraid of making mistakes, speak positively.
4: I will give you more natural conversational expressions with a native speaker's feel.

最初のレッスンはとても楽しかったです。私は自己紹介をして、先生は質問をしました。リラックスして日本語で話すことができると思いました。私は何度もミスしたが、先生は親切で忍耐でした。ぜひまたレッソンを予約します。
I had my first lesson with Sawa-sensei and it was fun! I introduced myself, and she asked questions. I could relax and speak in Japanese and even though I made mistakes, she was kind and patient. I'll definitely book a lesson with Sawa-Sensei again.

Sawa-san is a really friendly and engaging teacher. What I really like is she gives you the time to think and come up with your own words. Even if you're struggling, it's really helpful to have a teacher that's willing to give you the time to think on your own without resorting back to English.
During the lesson, she also helps to correct and rephrase your sentences to sound more natural. I really appreciated her enthusiasm in this first lesson and I look forward to taking even more lessons with her.

I've had a great experience with Sawa-sensei! They have a fantastic personality and are genuinely interested in helping you learn. They pay close attention to pronunciation and correct your mistakes, making sure you understand by providing explanations in Japanese.
The lessons don't have to be rigid for you to learn a lot. Recently, we've been playing a videogame in Japanese together, which has been incredibly effective for learning new vocabulary/kanji, and grammar. This way it's a really interactive 'you are actually using this vocab now' experience instead of random words in a textbook people may not actually use.
I highly recommend Sawa-sensei to anyone looking to improve their Japanese!
