Hi, I’m Taka!
- Born and raised in Japan
- 26 years of experience in the Japanese media industry
- Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in mechanical engineering
I offer the five lesson courses:

Whether you’re learning business Japanese or conversation, I tailor each lesson to your goals. I’ve traveled to over 30 countries, including China, the U.S., UK and Vietnam. These experiences help me understand the challenges of learning a new language.عني كمعلّم
I offer five types of lessons tailored to your needs. Most lessons include real-time feedback during the lesson and send you personalized notes afterward, so you can review them anytime.
Qualifications
- Certified Japanese Language Teacher Examination (登録日本語教員試験 基礎試験・応用試験) Passed
- Japanese Language Teaching Competency Test (日本語教育能力検定試験) Passed
- EIKEN Grade 1(Japan’s English proficiency exam, 英検 1級) Passed

- Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in mechanical engineering from a university in Japan

How I Teach
- You will speak more than I do while I listen and take notes. Creating your own sentences is the key to mastering Japanese.
- My lessons are for learners aged 18 and older.

I truly recommend Taka-sensei as a language teacher. He is patient, kind, and has a great way of explaining things so that they are easy to understand. During our lessons, he listens carefully and helps me improve step by step, from pronunciation to choosing more natural expressions in both casual and business situations. He always gives thoughtful feedback and useful notes after class, which makes it much easier for me to review and practice on my own. Thanks to his supportive and encouraging style, every lesson feels comfortable, motivating, and enjoyable.

I've enjoyed my lessons with Taka-sensei so far, and I appreciate all the feedback he gives to help me correct my mistakes. He has been flexible in adjusting our lessons based on both what will help me to progress, and how much energy I have for my studies.
I've not studied Keigo much yet, but I'm sure that with Taka-sensei's help and guidance I'll be able to make substantial progress with it! I'm looking forward to continuing our lessons over the coming year. Thank you Taka-sensei!

Taka先生との会話はとても楽しいです。何を話せばよいか分からなくても、会話が途切れることはなく、先生がとても丁寧に話を引き出してくださいます。先生のおかげで、普段知らなかった単語や表現を学ぶことができ、今日はありがとうございました。次回のレッスンを楽しみにしています。

Thank you for always tailoring the lesson to my needs. Remembering what I need to practice and preparing exercises exactly for that.
Also recieving the lesson notes after the lesson is a huge help!

We are on Chapter 7 of 日本語敬語トレーニング textbook. As always, Taka Sensei is gentle, yet serious in helping you advancing your Japanese. He pays attention to what you said and will correct both your pronunciation and the grammar in a constructive manner. Whenever I struggle finding the sonkeigo or kenjoko speech Taka Sensei will help me break down the sentence by returning back to the original form, finding the verb and its stem/pattern and then building the Keigo on it. I found this helpful than just rote memorising the Keigo. I also enjoy reading Sensei's feedback. You can tell he put thoughts into it. If you are serious about advancing your business Japanese, look no further!
