I'm a German native speaker working at a broadcaster in Germany. I grew up bilingually (German and English) and have been working as a private tutor for more than 10 years. At the University of Cologne, I got a Ph.D. in Political Science. I recently came back from the U.S. where I was a Visiting Scholar at Harvard University for two years. It is my greatest passion to share my love for languages. I love teaching, and I love a good old conversation. Both experienced in the academic realm, as well as in everyday contexts. Explaining things as easily and understandably as possible is part of my job at the broadcaster, which is a key element in my lessons as well.عني كمعلّم
My first teaching experiences date back to my high school days when I started working as a private tutor. I taught German, English, French and Maths to younger students. Throughout college and my Ph.D. journey, I continued working as a private tutor for both high school students and adults in Germany and abroad. At the University of Cologne (Germany), I gained experiences as a university tutor and gave several workshops on oral presentation skills.دروسي وأسلوب تدريسي
My goal is to respond to the individual needs of each student. Do you want to improve your conversation skills for your next vacation? Become competent in Business German / English for your next work trip? Or write that perfect application in order to land your dream job? The overall focus lies on speaking. Writing assignments are optional. Each lesson, we choose a topic of interest and have a conversation. Having fun while learning is essential for my teaching style. Liz as a teacher suits me in all respects. The pace of speech, the manner of correction, understanding the intention of the statement, despite the mistakes, the pronunciation of that very high German, which can be considered the standard. Patience, the choice of topics for conversation, interest and tact, the necessary proportions of listening and speaking - everything that is so necessary for a successful lesson and subsequent growth in the language. I highly recommend Liz!

Liz is great. Have had around 8 lessons and her laid back approach and ability to easily fluctuate between perfect English and German is a huge plus. Highly recommend!

This is my second lesson with Liz, I hardly speak German, I started learning it not so long ago and had a fear of speaking. With Liz the conversation comes naturally and she helps me to find the right words. I would gladly recommend her even if you are a beginner like me :-)

Super relaxed! No stress. Fun and very helpful! Liz is helping me review work emails (auf Deutsch) and helping me to better understand "business-Deutsch" and proper communication with my Customers in Germany! ( I work from home in the USA) So this is very helpful!!!

Ich bin sehr froh, Liz als Lehrerin gefunden zu haben! Selbst mit meinem niedrigen Niveau schafft sie es, mich ins Gespräch zu bringen – ganz ohne Druck und auf eine sehr motivierende Art. Man merkt gar nicht, wie man anfängt zu sprechen. Sie korrigiert sehr feinfühlig, ohne den Gedankengang zu unterbrechen, was mir viel Sicherheit gibt. Nach dem Unterricht schickt sie hilfreiche Notizen mit nützlichen Kollokationen – das ist für das Lernen wirklich sehr wertvoll. Ich kann Liz als Lehrerin mit voller Überzeugung weiterempfehlen!
