Shiva Hermsen

I’m really enjoying learning Dutch with Shiva! She’s patient, friendly, and makes every lesson fun and engaging. She always prepares a lot of interesting topics to talk about, which really helps me practice speaking naturally. She also pays attention to my mistakes and helps me improve step by step. Thanks to her, I feel much more confident speaking Dutch. I highly recommend her as a teacher!

Na een paar lessen met Shiva voel ik me al zelfverzekerder als ik Nederlands spreek. De lessen zijn erg leuk en goed georganiseerd. Ze heeft veel onderwerpen om over te discussiëren, en ze geeft goede feedback na de les. Ik zou haar lessen zeker aanraden!

Thank you for a great few months of learning, Shiva! I feel like I've made amazing progress with your method of microlearning and that we are slowly discovering more and more of my newfound Dutch-speaking personality. :) I really like your focus on vocabulary and using it on the spot as I feel my confidence has grown and I feel way more brave to speak outside of the classroom or to improvise during our lessons. I soak up so much knowledge every lesson and I can't wait to see where our work together will take us!

Shiva is a very engaging, funny and motivating teacher - I love the fact that I learn so many words in a very natural, organic way. She has a great list of topics, vocab and questions to go through at the lessons and that helps me so much to expand my vocabulary without necessarily sitting down for one hour and learning so many new words at once. We've had only a couple of lessons so far and I already notice a big shift in my confidence, vocabulary and fluency!

Thank your for today's lesson, Shiva! I really enjoyed our conversation and how you helped me learn new vocabulary by telling your experiences but also then encouraged me to use the new words by asking me questions and motivating me to speak. I'm looking forward to more chats about different topics from your list!

I think Shiva is a very inspiring teacher. She has a great approach to training in speaking. I strongly recommend her!
