Grace

I had another excellent class with Mwalimu Grace. She is a lovely person, very professional, and always comes to class very well prepared with exercises and material tailored to her students' learning needs. For example today, she prepared a level-appropriate story for me to read in Swahili and I was able to work on my oral comprehension, speaking and negating verbs, which has been a significant challenge for me. I felt more confident in my ability to negate verbs after our class, thanks to her exercises. Asante sana kwa darasa la leo, Mwalimu Grace. Ninashukuru sana kwa kazi yako.

Great lesson with Grace! We started by reviewing the greetings and self-introduction. Grace was happy that I remembered a lot of it. After that, we learned about the m/mi noun class and types of nouns that belong in it. Grace is doing very well at explaining the different parts of the language. She is caring and thoughtful!

Great lesson with Grace! We did a review of the m/wa noun class. After that, we learned about the ki/vi noun class. Grace explained how the subject influences the other parts of the sentence, and also how there are some ch/vy words that are also part of the ki/vi noun class. Grace makes the ideas easy to understand and is always calm and reassuring!

Another great lesson with Mwalimu Grace! We discussed the Thanksgiving holiday touched on some points from the video we watched during the previous lesson. We finished by reading a short story, "Ahadi ni deni" (a promise is a debt). It included some short poetry, which was nice. Mwalimu Grace said she would look for some other poetry to read during class. She always comes up with interesting material. As usual, she was punctual and well prepared for the class.

Mwalimu Grace is always punctual and so well prepared. We finished reading a story from last time, went over some reading comprehension questions, then moved on to watching a video about the Congo forest. It was very interesting.

Learned some great new vocabulary words today in Mwalimu Grace's class. We read another fable that has very proper Swahili. It was very interesting. For next time, we planned to wrap up this fable and then move on to watching a short video in Swahili on some interesting topic.
