My name is Maura but you can call me Mao.
I'm from Colombia, I was born in a town called Barbosa, Santander. I currently live in the city of Barranquilla, in the north coast and my native language is Spanish.
I am an industrial engineer with extensive experience in industrial logistics, I am also a certified tutor in teaching Spanish to foreigners, I have skills in leadership and effective communication.
I am patient, simple, dreamy and cheerful.

Tengo experiencia como tutora de español por más de 1 año, con más de 700 horas de enseñanza en linea.
He ayudado a estudiantes de diferentes lugares como, Irlanda, Londres, Australia, USA, Polonia y Brasil para que alcancen sus objetivos del idioma.
Mi metodologia de enseñaza se enfoca en introducir el idioma de forma natural con materiales atractivos y de interés para los estudiantes, como videos, juegos, lecturas, música y conversaciones casuales.

Maura has a wide range of skills for teaching Spanish but I feel the most important is an engaging personality. She asks fun questions that force me to stretch my Spanish. An hour passes quickly but it is exhausting. Perfect. At the end of each conversation Maura reviews a few errors in grammar, pronunciation and word choices I had been making that she noted carefully but tactfully did not allow to interrupt our conversation. It's a nice balance. After every session I receive a new reading assignment as a start to our next conversation. We're making progress!
