Chiharu Abe

チー先生 has been amazing in teaching me Japanese and adapting to my ever-changing goals. Thanks to her I was able to learn valuable Japanese that helped make my visit to Japan even more enjoyable and a great learning opportunity. Now I am excited to continue working with her to speak more everyday Japanese with the new friends I have made. She is always prepared for our lessons and outlines what we will be working on. She shares many example sentences to practice with and guides me as I attempt to make my own, offering gentle corrections and explanations. I am given recommendations on what I can work on and how to practice to make the most of my Japanese lessons. If you are looking for a prepared, knowledgeable, kind, and encouraging teacher, I highly recommend taking a lesson with チーさん :)

Chi-san's lessons are so fun. She always explains things in a way that I can understand, and takes notes each lesson for me to study with. I also enjoy using the Irodori Textbook with her. I can feel my confidence in speaking improving with each lesson!

Chiharu is always so thoughtful and prepares a great lesson for me. She gives great examples, and then has me practice using the grammar point. She is an amazing teacher!

Chi has been great at adjusting what we learn based on my goals. She was able to easily switch from teaching useful concepts and phases for a short trip to Japan, to more detailed explanations of grammar and it use. I was given lots of opportunity to practice in class and homework to work on　between sessions. Chi also shared guidance on how to make the most of my own self-study sessions. Chi is a great and patient teacher! She uses a textbook and audio so I get practice with reading, listening, speaking, and the activities help me check my comprehension. She goes through the important vocabulary first and then gives me lots of opportunities to practice using them in our lesson. She is great at explaining things when i don't understand and is encouraging when I try to work through the activities on my own. To help me with my self-directed learning she offers homework questions and vocabulary and grammar points for me to learn or review between our lessons. ありがとう　チ先生！
