Jair makes sure your conversations are always interesting and full of energy! Every session we've had is full of laughter and good stories. I started to feel much more comfortable speaking for long periods of time after just the first lesson. My trial lesson with Jair went well. I entered the lesson under the impression that I had forgotten all of my Spanish, but I was able to remember a decent amount during our conversation. I believe I was able to remember some of my Spanish because of Jair's ability to create a comfortable environment and assist at a respectful pace. I suggest booking a trial lesson with him!

Jair is an amazing iTalki tutor, whether you need lessons or conversation practice! He always caters to your needs; if you feel weak in a certain area (say, a certain type of past tense, or prepositions), he'll come prepared with slides and examples. He doesn't talk "at" you like so many people do though; he encourages you to form your own practice sentences so you truly solidify the concept, which is immensely helpful. If you just want conversational practice, he's also got you; I always enjoy having conversations with him! :D He's a genuinely great person, and the conversations he initiates (when you can't think of any topics of your own) are always fascinating and fun. You are practicing Spanish, but you are also having a genuinely great conversation. He is patient, if you need help forming a word or phrase, he'll guide you through it and write it down for you. He also gives cultural insights which are both helpful and fascinating as well. I highly, highly recommend him!! :D

Just finished my 3rd lesson of Spanish through Music with Jair, and it was excellent! I really enjoy how he goes about presenting songs and working through them stanza by stanza in order to understand the vocabulary, the figurative language and the entire meaning of the song. In addition, he challenges me to listen for words in songs, and when I can't figure a word out, he helps me understand it. ¡Ha sido muy divertido! Te recomiendo que tomes su clase y aprendas no solo el idioma, sino también la cultura.

Jair is patient and focused… and retests me as we go along. In today’s sessions he started to teach me about verbs and how they change depending on the individual situation… and to start to construct those as sentences.
