A Little About Me
Hello! I’m Miao, a certified Chinese teacher with a passion for helping learners unlock the beauty of Mandarin. I hold a degree in Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language (TCFL) from Shanghai International Studies University and am certified in Putonghua (Level II) and English (TEM-8). With two years of teaching experience, I specialize in HSK preparation for adults, focusing on practical communication to ensure students can confidently use Chinese in real-life situations.عني كمعلّم
My Experience
My teaching journey began in college, where I:
✅ Taught students from Switzerland, Pakistan, and the US in exchange programs.
✅ Worked as a teaching assistant at a bilingual international school.
✅ Conducted online classes for Thai children.

My Teaching Approach

🚀 Interactive & Systematic: Emphasis on speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills, with scaffolding to make learning natural and effective.
🚀 Flexible Materials: Primarily HSK-based, but I supplement with other resources as needed. The materials I’m using with my students are: HSK, Developing Chinese, New Target Chinese Spoken Language, New Silk Road Business Chinese, videos or contexts from Xiaohongshu, weibo, news and dramas/movies.

Laoshi Miao is excellent; she can teach the four tones of the Chinese language, which are fundamental for listening and speaking.

Laoshi Miao, is amazing at teaching tonality, Chinese syllables and pinyin. I highly recommend her for western students that struggle with Chinese pinyin and tonality.

lessons with teacher miao is always enjoyable! she makes everything super easy to understand and explain everything so well. we use real life examples during lessons and it makes the lesson fun and useful for real life situations. whenever i have a question, she answers it clearly and explain it so well that i'm able to grasp the concept right away. ive learned a lot in a short time, im looking forward to learning more with her

Laoshi Miao was excellent. She is able to explain to western learners, how to pronounce Chinese Pinyin and grammar. She is an expert in Chinese grammar and is fun and has strong knowledge of HSK Chinese system.
