With my unique background of having lived in 8 different countries and speaking eight languages to varying degrees, my passion lies in teaching Italian to adults. Witnessing the incredible transformation of hundreds of my students, as they progress from monolingual English speakers to confident bilingual communicators, brings me immense joy.
With over 10 years of experience teaching online, my primary focus is on adult learners who speak English as their native language. Yes, I am a certified teacher of Italian as a foreign language, with a formal background in linguistics and communication that I earned from two universities in Italy and France. Mi piace italki ma le valutazioni non corrispondono alla realtà. Sembra che tutti gli insegnanti siano uguali (5 stelle). Prova una lezione con Serena e ne vedrai una che merita davvero 5 stelle.

This was my first full lesson with Serena. She has to be one of the best teachers on italki. The lesson was completely thought out and we used a variety of material to talk about diverse topics. I was fully relaxed during the lesson, even when making mistakes, which speaks volumes to the atmosphere that Serena created during our session. I am excited for my next lesson.

Today was my first full lesson with Serena. I learned how to answer/ask questions and conjugate -are, -ere, and -ire verbs and then use them to say my own self-introduction. We also did some exercises to let the new grammar that I was learning sink in. I enjoyed my lesson and am looking forward to learning more Italian.
