Hi! I'm Tom, a Welshman, and a world traveller of over 30 countries. I've lived in Australia, Mexico, and Spain. I started teaching in 2013 in Mexico, and have been teaching online since 2015. I have a wide range of interests, including football, story telling (consuming books and films, but also writing my own stories), travelling, politics, and practicing languages.

I help intermediate and advanced learners build the skills they need to use English confidently in the real world. What you’ll get from my lessons: Structured conversational practice with feedback; Correction of grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation errors; Engaging discussions based on TED Talks, articles, and videos; Vocabulary building for professional and everyday contexts My teaching style is practical and engaging. Many of my students take lessons with me to prepare for using English in the workplace, moving abroad or traveling, and speaking confidently in social or academic settings. [NOTE: My lessons are not suitable for young children or complete beginners.] I send my students Ted Talks videos and related articles about any kind of topic. After you watch/read these in your free time, we discuss the content in the class. Here you can practice giving your opinions, agreeing & disagreeing, and practice your speaking and listening skills. The class is completely conversational. During the class, I correct your mistakes as we speak, while also writing them down in the chat box. The idea is to let you practice your spoken English, correct your mistakes, and help you expand your vocabulary/grammar.

I had a 30-minute trial lesson with Tom. He gave me the impression of being a friendly, supportive, and well-prepared teacher, who knew what he was talking about. He encouraged and let me talk a lot during the lesson, I definitely recommend to anyone want to improve their speaking skills.

Another great class !! We talked about a video from tedtalks and while we discuss, Tom gave me feedback on grammar, pronunciation and introduce me to new words and expressions. I'm learning a lot from him !! Thanks again Tom !! looking forward to next class !!

It was my third class with Tom and I'm really satisfied! Until now I have learned more than 100 new words just with three classes and I'm so glad because with more vocabulary I can express myself better! I can realize clearly the british accent and he noticed my mistakes and corrected me all the time. Thank you, Tom, see you in our next class!
