I had a great lesson with 채언 today. We reviewed the previous lesson first and then continued where we left off last time. 채언 always takes the time to answer my questions and writes the answers on the whiteboard.

My lessons are always so fun! My vocabulary is pretty limited, but the teacher always helps me formulate a sentence. She asks questions to understand what I’m trying to say. We have many laughs when I tell stories. During the first half of the lesson, we free talk, and that’s a lot of fun. The second half is helpful because she shows me a presentation that she has made, so I get to learn new words and phrases. Although some weeks I struggle a lot and other weeks I can make long sentences, she doesn’t get upset with me. I struggle with numbers a lot, and although we have learned them, I make mistakes all the time. The teacher always gently corrects me, and she doesn’t get upset when I make mistakes. She is kind and knows that learning a language is hard because she is also learning different languages.

She is the best teacher I’ve ever had! Our lessons focus on Business Korean, and I’m learning so many useful professional words and expressions that I can actually use in my workplace in Korea. If you’re looking for a qualified, patient, and supportive Korean teacher, I highly recommend her!

Today we finished the chapter about hobbies and will continue with the next chapter about the home. There will be a lot of useful vocabulary to learn. I still have some difficulty understanding the difference between 하고 and (이)랑. 채언 patiently explained it using a worksheet she had made.
