The best Chinese teacher on italki! I started as a complete beginner, and by the 2nd lesson, I could already read Chinese characters. I'm amazed that I haven't spoken a word of English during her lessons. Even though Hannah only speaks Chinese during her lessons, I understand her completely. Despite not having a strong reason to learn Chinese, I persist because of Hannah's excellent teaching skills.

When we practice conversation, I am always grateful that Hannah uses words I learned recently or new words she recently taught me so I can learn in context. She is a great conversationalist and the topics we cover are always interesting. She is always patient when I think of a word and uses Chinese to help me when needed [never English]. 谢谢老师！

I have taken lessons with many different Chinese teachers and I think Hannah is one of the best out there. She always makes sure to only speak Chinese during our lessons so that I get lots of listening practice, and even though my Chinese level is still very low, I never have trouble understanding because she always explains things very well using words I can understand, and is very patient when I need to hear things a second or third time. Our lessons involve a good balance of reading, speaking and listening, working through activities as well as just general conversation practice. I believe I have learned a lot since my first lesson 谢谢你老师 :)

Hannah is a great teacher, professional, skilled and patient. As a beginner, after more than 15 lessons with her, I am making steady progress. She has provided me with a structured, step-by-step introduction into the basics of the language. I have been immersed in conversation using Chinese from the very beginning. She is able to adjust the difficulty to the level I am capable of understanding. At the same time, the acquisition of new words comes naturally. Highly recommended.

Hannah is a great teacher. She is very patient and relaxed with students like me and explains the grammar concepts very well. Hannah is also great at reminding you of characters or words you forgot and ensuring you pronounce your words or Chinese tones correctly. Definitely recommend because she one of the best teachers.
