Hello there! Are you a professional aiming to perfect your English for more fluid interactions at the workplace? Do you have plans to travel abroad for work or study and need to ace a standardized test for your program (GRE, GMAT, IELTS, TOEFL, SAT, etc.)? Or are you a non-native speaker seeking to learn and converse more easily in English for social or casual purposes?
My name is Darlington—researcher, educator, and language coach. For over six years, I have had the unique and humbling opportunity of helping several students attain their English learning goals. I hold an M.A. in Governance from the University of Passau, and a Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Bologna.عني كمعلّم
My formal classroom work began at the University of Pavia, where I designed and taught an eight-hour “Introduction to Research on African Studies” module for bachelor- and master-level students writing a thesis in English on African Studies.
Beyond campus, I lead writing seminars for business organisations, guiding professionals on how to prepare clear technical reports and present information and data more engagingly. These besides, I assist students preparing for graduate school with their personal statements and research proposals, and also facilitate workshops on statistics and data analysis, using software such as Stata, R, MaxQDA, and Power BI. دروسي وأسلوب تدريسي
My classes are practical, student-focused and engaging. During the the first trial lesson, I collect comprehensive information about my students' needs, expectations, and preferences. Thereafter, I structure lessons to meet these goals, continuiously calibrating the structure and style of the class to ensure they are both relevant and instructive in helping students improve on their language proficiency.
I alternate between the four ESL learning frameworks: TTT (Test-Teach-Test), PPP (Presentation-Practice-Production), ESA (Engage-Study-Activate), and TBL (Task-Based Learning) to ensure I provide students with an engaging and personalized teaching experience that best aligns with the goals.موادي الخاصة بالتدريس
