Hi, I’m Dr Edwin (Eddy). I’m a PhD-qualified, TESOL-certified communication coach with 18+ years of experience helping people improve their speaking and soft skills.
Growing up in multilingual Singapore shaped how I see language—not just as grammar, but as a way of thinking and expressing identity. I bring that into my lessons to help you speak more naturally, clearly, and confidently.
I’ve worked with learners from diverse backgrounds, including over a decade as a university lecturer in Media and Communication in Australia. I’ve also designed communication and wellbeing workshops for schools and organisations, and published work in related fields.
My focus goes beyond English accuracy. We also develop self-awareness and emotional intelligence (EQ), so you can communicate more effectively in academic, professional, and everyday contexts.
I work with teenage and adult learners who want to use English for real communication: conversation, presentations, interviews, academic prep, and personal expression. PLEASE NOTE: I am not suitable to teach beginner's and children under 16.
We use media, storytelling, and AI tools to make learning practical and engaging. Instead of memorised answers, we explore how you can express your own experiences, values, and strengths with clarity and authenticity.

Level 7 Diploma in TESOL - London Teacher Training College - 2023The TQUK Level 7 Diploma in TESOL is an advanced, Ofqual-regulated qualification (equivalent to Master’s level) designed for experienced English teachers. This 120-180 hour course focuses on advanced methodologies, language acquisition theories, and pedagogical practice, typically featuring modules on linguistics, classroom management, and a practical teaching component.

Lecturer and TutorI taught subjects in media and communication studies and sociology, with a focus on critical thinking and effective argumentation and presentation. I have taught diverse students from around the world, up to 14 different nationalities in one classroom. These were ESL students studying a bridging course to enter their undergraduate studies.
