I am a pedagogist and ESL teacher (English as a second language) as well as a primary and secondary school teacher. My hometown is New York City, the city and home that I love but I also have a second place I call home - Athens, Greece - where I currently reside. My passions are ideas and sharing ideas is my joy.عني كمعلّم

For intermediate to fluent learners wishing to fire up and break through to higher English: I focus on dialogue where you will learn the true structure and elements of English expression (informal, business, academic)
#1 goal - You will feel good learning ways to express yourself in English. This will lead you to true confidence and success.
You will use imaginative materials (sci-fi and fantasy like Lord of the Rings, the Matrix, and many more) and historical and literary sources that attract and excite you!

- The dialogical approach and coaching approach -
You are an intermediate to fluent English speaker facing the frustration of 'level stagnation' where you feel stuck, and making no progress. I will turn your frustration around by firing up ways that English will start to go from 'frozen' to 'flow' whether you are an academic or have a curious mind wishing to 'tune-up and turn on' your English aptitude.
I use the fundamental approaches of role-playing, acting, active and imaginative reading, vocabulary chunking through, simple vocabulary games and immersive thinking to keep you genuinely engaged.

Without the right level of confidence, you will never speak a foreign language well, especially during job interviews when confidence can be extremely low due to natural stress and anxiety.
We worked with Toine to help me prepare for a job interview. Through role-playing various interview scenarios, he didn't just prepare me for the questions I might face; he equipped me with tactics to present the best version of myself in front of unknown people.
Toine's most admirable quality is his empathy. In every lesson, it was evident that he genuinely cared about my progress and success. He listens with attentiveness, always ready with the right words of encouragement or a piece of advice that seemed to be exactly what I needed to hear at that moment.
And it was all in a very casual, relaxing, and humorous way. Thank you, Toine!
