Bonjour et bienvenue! My name is Sophie and I'm from the French Alps, from a town called Annecy and known as " the Venice of the Alps ". I studied Mandarin and Economics in France, the UK and China. I love learning new things - I have recently started learning the guitar, but above all I am passionate about travelling and discovering new cultures. I'm sure we will find shared passions!

Since I have been on the same language learning journey as you, I appreciate how challenging it can be. Therefore I will put myself in your shoes and understand what is your learning method so we can adapt the lesson to the way you learn. Teaching French to students in both the UK and China were great experiences, and I would be delighted to accompany you in your French learning journey!

Speaking is key in learning a language so I will encourage you to always try and express yourself in French only. We will determine together the subjects you would like to discuss about. Sophie is a fantastic French teacher. She makes lessons extremely engaging (with tongue twisters) while keeping them structured. I always feel comfortable speaking, get lots of clear feedback to improve, and leave with a solid plan for the next class. She also tailored exercises specific for TEF Canada, which was extremely helpful.

Chaque cours avec Sophie est super agréable et bien structuré. On a joué à 2 vérités et 1 mensonge et j’ai appris à dire l’alphabet de A à Z très vite ! Elle m’envoie toujours une liste claire de mes points à améliorer et un plan précis pour la prochaine leçon. Le temps passe trop vite et je me sens chaque fois plus confiant en français.
