I am a student who loves not only to learn, but to share my knowledge with others. I currently study Foreign Languages and Literatures at the University of Milan with emphasis on German and Scandinavian languages. I graduated with a bachelors degree in Linguistic Mediation with focus on English and Spanish. I was born and raised in Italy, but I had the opportunity to stay in the USA for 3 months and Sweden for 8 months. When I was in Sweden, I became a teacher’s assistant for English and Spanish at both elementary/middle school levels. Both of these experiences abroad have made me more aware of my "Italian" and have given me the opportunity to hone my skills as a language teacher.عني كمعلّم
I tend to be demanding with my students, but laid-back at the same time. I want my students to make the best, pressuring the students so as they can achieve their goals. I am also very accommodating, adapting my way of teaching and the language of instruction (Italian, English or Spanish) according to the preferences of the student. I am quite honest. This means that I might sound a bit direct sometimes, but when I tell you "your Italian has really improved! You could even have a job interview now!", well, I really mean it. Being a tutor here on Italki means allowing me to measure your progress in the Italian language. Depending on your goals, I will adapt the content and method of my lesson. I enjoy talking discussing culture, defying unfounded stereotypes about Italy, Italians and the Italian language. Making comparisons and expressing opinions via speaking and/or writing will help us enhance your language skills. In addition to dealing with grammatical issues ,I also like to dive into pragmatics, the actual use of the language.

Ya van más de 60 lecciones de conversación con Giacomo. Es una persona con la que me siento muy cómodo hablando. Hace poco estuve en Italia y la práctica con él me sirvió para comunicarme perfectamente en italiano, con la seguridad de poder mantener el diálogo sin usar el español o el inglés. Lo recomiendo ampliamente.

Giacomo is terrific! Thoughtful, intelligent, and a great conversationalist. Italian is a new language for me, and it helps that Giacomo is multilingual and I can reference other languages in my questions to him about Italian. I feel very supported by Giacomo in our lessons. He's truly invested in his students' progress and that's super encouraging to a new student like me.

I had this wacky idea to take a month’s worth of Italian lessons before my business trip to Turin, just to get a feel for the language and culture and speak and understand as much as I can before my journey. The homework is accessible to complete, but difficult enough to be challenging. Super communicative, great teacher who tailors the lessons to your most effective learning style. I’m only in the first week of lessons, but I’m already comprehending so much, thanks to his incorporating my knowledge of other romance languages. Highly recommended.

Faccio lezioni con Giacomo ogni settimana da più di 9 mesi, e c'è sempre lo stesso piacere di parlare con lui. Giacomo è molto simpatico, paziente, calmo, con una mente aperta e un buon senso del umorismo e sa sempre come spiegare bene le cose. Non mi fa mai sentire in soggezione.
