I have studied English, Italian, and German from scratch! I understand the difficulties of learning foreign languages and the ways to improve.
University: English communication and business at a Japanese university. Design school in Italy & exchange student in the U.S
Work: Japanese teacher, translator, interpreter, & designer.
Countries I lived in: Italy, Vietnam, Australia, the United Kingdom, the United States, & Germany.
Countries I traveled to: France, Spain, Switzerland, Austria, Luxembourg, Malaysia and Taiwan.
Hobbies: Traveling abroad & visiting art museums.

After obtaining my qualification as a Japanese teacher at school, I worked briefly as a Japanese teacher in Vietnam. At that time, I taught conversation-focused classes from beginner to business level. I also have experience volunteering to teach Japanese language and culture to local American students during my study abroad in the U.S. I have been teaching Japanese on Italki since 2021.

Lessons tailored to students' levels, from beginner to advanced.
I offer a variety of lessons including conversation, reading comprehension, business Japanese, writing, and grammar. Lessons are provided based on the students' needs! Some lessons can even be customized by the students themselves!
I will carefully explain any parts that are unclear and encourage students to think for themselves. I will also provide thorough guidance on any incorrect expressions. Let’s work together to improve your Japanese skills!

Tomomi-sensei is wonderful to have conversations with. I had studied Japanese in the past and had been looking for someone that I could speak to for practice and to help me correct my waning Japanese grammar skills. We have general conversations about whatever topic comes to mind that day, and I always leave with new words and more complex sentence structures to help me speak better!

Tomomi-Sensei is extremely patient and kind. She did a wonderful job of encouraging me to figure out the hiragana for myself. I look forward to having more lessons with her and would recommend her highly to beginners like me. Thank you Tomomi-Sensei!

I sometimes take Free Talk lesson from Tomomi sensei and she is very patient, as I am only an A1 student and I forget everything ) She writes all new words for me and corrects all of my mistakes.

My first class with Tomomi Sensei and it was great! I choose the lesson you can decide and it was perfect! I am an A1 Beginner so was nervous if I'd be able to handle a text book free lesson but Tomomi Sensei encouraged me, made me feel comfortable. Loved that she taught me the more natural way of saying things which is what I wanted. Can't wait to take more classes! ありがとうございますともみ先生！

Tomomi sensei helps me a lot with organising and expressing my thoughts. She helps correct my mistakes and learn new words and expressions and explains things clearly. It's a lot of fun discussing different topics in the lessons!
