Bonjour ! My name is Rachel, I’m a freelance teacher in Toulouse. My Master degree was about French as a foreign language. My first experience of teaching French was with a friend that came in France to study in the same university; we made so many good memories! Today, I also work part-time in a association, teaching French to migrants searching a job in France.
A bit about myself : you can use any pronoun with me (they/she/he) I don't mind ! In french I generally use 'she' while speaking but 'they' while writing about myself. I'm also vegetarian. I don't smoke nor drink, that's why my knowledge about alcohol or flesh cooking is limited.عني كمعلّم
I started to tutor here, on Italki, in February 2017 and am still here!
At university I had the chance to practice teaching French a few times in two associations, at Alliance Française and at the DEFLE (Foreigners majoring in French) department of my uni (levels from A0 to B2). I also had the opportunity to work with social centers and a high school in a special class for foreign teenagers recently arrived in France. How can I help you?
The topics I am most familiar with are video games, arts, literature, graphic design and environment. I prefer to help with oral French, but I absolutely can correct your writing or explain grammar. I agreed to all the methods the students suggested so far. If you don't have anything in mind, I can suggest something after the trial lesson.
Some of my students are CHILDREN and SENIORS but most of them are ADULTS. I always send a short greeting message to my new student and ask them what they want to do. Feel free to tell me if you are shy or if you struggle with something, I’ll be there for you =)موادي الخاصة بالتدريس

ObserverI did a short internship during my bachelor (University Toulouse 2 : Jean Jaurès). I had to observe classes given to A0-B1 levels, illiterate foreigners, but also traffic laws classes given to illiterate people or people with difficulties should they be French or foreigners. It took place in a social center. I also had the opportunity to lead a class once for A0-illiterate group of foreigners.
2023 - 2023
AssistantI did a short internship in a high school during my 1rst year of master in the University of Toulouse 2 : Jean Jaurès. I had the opportunity to observe the classes given by another teacher and could assist her with the exercices. I also prepared some of them. The classes were given to foreign teenagers or some of their parents.
2024 - 2024
French animatorInternship for the last year of the Master's degree during 6 months.
Classes given: advanced literacy, true beginners, digital.

French TrainerTeacher for immigrates' program (beginners, literacy). Conversation practice. Cultural Excursions.

Linguistic TrainerTeacher for the AFC FLE programm aiming for work insertion, TCF and Pix. I manage the French, digital and soft skills classes. I'm also tasked with individual interviews and overvewing the students during their internship.

Linguistic TrainerI manage the French classes at CREPI: administration, finding students, communication on social medias, preparing and giving the lessons. Our student are migrants and we developed two programs, one aiming finding a job, the other allowing migrants waiting for their title to sell on a public market. We also welcome other people as long as we have available seats. The groups are divided as so: literacy, A1.1 to B2.

I did preparation for a flyer of the languages and welcome device for migrants (DiLaMi) and also processed applications to enter the courses offered by the device.
