Hi, I'm 赵(Zhào) 蕾(Lěi). If one omits the top part of 蕾, I will become my brother, since 赵雷 would be a name for boys. That's the magic of Chinese! Just call me 赵 then(or ready for a prize)~

I have taught 10000+(still counting) sessions both on-line and off-line in Beijing since 2012. As you may have seen in my video, I'm more like a *noisy* and enthusiastic machine rather than a serious tutor, so I tend not to consider myself as a teacher, but a partner wishing to make you relaxed and productive with me.

I want to start by emphasizing just how fun and positive classes are with 赵蕾. Some days I'm so tired because of work, but I always come out of class feeling so excited to keep learning!
At the beginning of each class 赵蕾 and I have a conversation in Mandarin where she lets me talk about anything I want! Normally, when I first learn a language, I get so worried about making mistakes… but I never felt that way even once in a class with 赵蕾! She’s really good at creating a safe space, which has helped me gain so much confidence in speaking!
After our conversation time, she has PowerPoint lessons that we follow where I can learn new words and grammar points. Even though I do a lot of self-study, these PPs really help give structure and direction to the class!
Lastly, I really love how we mostly speak mandarin in class even though I’m just a beginner! That’s the best thing any language teacher can do for their student!
I would 100% recommend 赵蕾!

Now our lessons with Zhao Lei have 3 parts - open topic conversation, Chinese characters reading/understanding, and new grammar practice based on text book units. I like to study Chinese with Zhao Lei and I believe my progress is significant!

I've had about ten lessons so far, and am really enjoying them. The exercise book we're working through is good, and she adds lots of custom content as well. We also spend a good fraction of the time just chatting in Chinese so that I can practise everything I'm learning in a more natural context. I strongly recommend her as a teacher.
