🌎 CELTA-certified English teacher with 9+ years of experience, specializing in adult learners. I’ve taught 13,000+ online lessons and also in classrooms in China and South Korea, helping my students achieve fluency through personalized, goal-oriented methods. My background in science, travel, and writing lets me tailor lessons to your interests, whether it’s IELTS prep, technical vocabulary, or casual conversation. Currently based in Thailand (but unable to accept Thai residents due to visa rules—sorry!). ⚠️ Note: Classes starting on the hour or half hour (e.g., 3:00 or 3:30, not 3:15 or 3:45). Ages 16 years+ Bring your questions and curiosity. Let’s make learning purposeful and fun! There are much better ways to learn languages than those typically taught in schools. I've helped many students find the techniques that work for them. * Focus on YOUR goals and interests * Customized homework and extra materials * A variety of class activities, based on your preferences No topic is off-limits. Language is for communicating, and I am happy to talk to you about, teach you vocabulary for, and explain any cultural sensitivities about topics. Everyone is welcome in my classroom, and I aim to create a comfortable and safe environment. I like to set long-term and short-term goals. These help you keep track of your progress and make it easier to reach your desired skills. If you’re unsure of your goals, I can help you establish them. They can be as small or big as you'd like....

Julie's lessons are well structured, engaging, and never monotonous, thanks to her ability to enrich each script with concrete and constructive examples that make the content immediately understandable. During the lessons, Julie suggests additional vocabulary ranging from the most colloquial to the most formal terms. This approach allows you not only to improve your command of the language but also to broaden your cultural knowledge in an authentic way.

My first class with Julie was fantastic. I shared my learning goals and preferred topics with her beforehand, and she tailored the lesson nicely to match them. During the lesson, we talked about various space-related curiosities, and I was able to fully express myself while having a natural and informative conversation with her. She also suggested more natural expressions in the chat and provided helpful feedback without interrupting my speaking flow. Overall, it was a very pleasant first lesson with Julie, and I’m definitely looking forward to more in-depth discussions in the future!
