Aniko

Today we started role-playing how to converse with a visiting dignitary from Hungary, something that I may do soon. As always, Anikó made the lesson fun and confidence-boosting; and her command of English always keeps us on the same page, and makes it easy for me to ask for clarifications, or to ask how to say specific things.

Another awesome lesson with Aniko! This is the teacher that inspires, helps you navigate through complex concepts of the Hungarian language, uses different teaching techniques: from explaining grammar to reversing roles, where you get to ask the questions in Hungarian too. I always feel great after our lessons, because I do feel like I progress every time. And Aniko always goes far and beyond to make sure I have all the necessary learning materials AND she finds and puts together fun and creative dialogues that we break down together and act it out :) Always looking forward to next lessons, thank you for being such a great and inspiring teacher!

Anikó is a fantastic Hungarian teacher! Her clear explanations and engaging style helped me pass my Hungarian embassy interview. Highly recommend!

We met for 30mins/wk for 3 mos. She waited for me to take the lead, so I suggested we go through a list of questions I found. She’d greet me & ask how I am in English & I’d try to answer in Hungarian. A couple times she started with a random question in Hungarian, which was great! Then we worked on translating & answering my questions from scratch or proofreading what I came up with on my own & any tangential topics they inspired. It was a bit challenging, since I stopped learning 5 years ago! She made a listening exercise inspired by one of our classes & we spent half a class working on an email. I’d ask if she’d assign me homework in the Magyar Ok textbook, which she did a couple times & sent a pdf of a textbook from 93. My internet wasn’t great, but she always gave me extra mins to make up for time lost & sent more questions to work on. She said she’d like to do more, but has been busy lately, which is understandable at this time of year. Not bad for such a great price!

I learned new words and new sentence structures. I am satisfied with the class.
