A lot of my students come to me thinking they have a vocabulary or grammar problem. Often, what's actually holding them back is how they sound, their rhythm, intonation, and accent clarity. I'm Matthew, a professional English pronunciation coach from the UK with 15 years of experience. I help intermediate and advanced non-native speakers who already know English well but feel held back in meetings, presentations, and everyday workplace conversations.
Outside teaching, you'll find me cooking, hiking, or discovering new music, always curious, always learning.
I'm structured, direct, and genuinely invested in your progress. You'll always know what you're working on and why, no vague feedback, no wasted lesson time.
With 15 years of experience, a 5.0 rating, and over 6,800 lessons completed, I've worked with professionals from all over the world: from intermediate speakers to C1 learners, refining the final details of their English. I won't just tell you your English is good. I'll show you exactly what to work on and how to fix it.

I came to the lesson with a very specific goal related to exam preparation and prononciation in General British, so the focus of the lesson was already quite targeted from the beginning (probably a little different from a typical first lesson). I really appreciated how flexible and responsive he was to my needs. Even within that relatively short time, I already felt that I gained valuable insights, especially regarding to my intonation. His detailed feedback helped me become more aware of areas I need to work on. All in all, I‘m very grateful for his support and would definitely recommend him!
