My name is Nick and I am from the United States, now based in Greece.
Native English speaker who can also speak Greek fluently, and have a basic fluency in Italian. I can also speak a little bit of French and Portuguese.
Bachelor's degree in broadcast journalism, worked as a journalist for 8 years before becoming an English teacher and completing a master's degree in political science-international relations, and obtaining a CELTA certificate to teach English as a second language along the way.عني كمعلّم
I have 8 years experience teaching English as a second language. I've taught children as young as 5, as well as adults. I currently teach pre and upper intermediate students at a language school in Dublin, Ireland. My online English teaching is mostly private one-on-one lessons with children and adults of all ages, backgrounds, and levels of English fluency. I like to use a conversational style to my lessons and make language learning as relatable to everyday life as possible. I'm always attentive to each student's unique background, strengths, interests and needs to tailor my lessons to their best interests.دروسي وأسلوب تدريسي
My formal lessons will be fun and interactive listening, grammar, writing, and reading lessons. My informal lessons will be "free talk" sessions, where we will just practice having a conversation in English, then at the end of their time, go over any aspects of the student's language skills that they should work on, based on how they spoke in their conversation with me.
Throughout all types of lessons though, my teaching style is communicative, as I believe this is the best way to apply language as a skill to real life situations that skill will be needed for. Nick has been working with my two grandchildren during the past year, teaching them English grammar and conversation over Skype.
We are very grateful for the work that Nick has undertaken during this time.
His knowledge of English has both, great depth and breadth, and he has worked out an individualized approach for each child, effective for their age and level of knowledge.
He is kind, friendly and professional, and very easy to converse with. He has shown a great spirit of collaboration and has been eager to find solutions when scheduling conflicts occurred as a result of the kids' other extracurricular activities.
