Born and raised in Berlin, Germany, I am a dedicated language enthusiast with a passion for both learning and teaching. With over 17 years of experience, I specialize in advanced grammar (C1/C2) and accent reduction, employing patient, tailored techniques to ensure effective learning without pressure. Beyond teaching, I am an avid traveler who values cultural exchange and personal stories, always eager to learn from others. I've helped Germans improve their English for 9 years and have taught German for almost 8 years. First, I started acquiring students on a local basis in Berlin and then offered to tutor people abroad. Later I taught German to foreign prisoners in the JVA-Tegel (Tegel prison); thus, I learned how to behave professionally and understand even in stressful situations. My knowledge of German grammar goes beyond the C1 and C2 levels, and I am sure that I can help you improve yours without much effort and, more importantly, without pressure! ** Guided Lesson **
- Based on the CEFR
- 14 units à 28-36 lessons
- Every subject is divided into 2 lessons, sometimes a student needs more time, though
- The student gets access to a language learning software with tons of material, such as recordings, grammatical explanations, games, conjugation tables & intuitive exercises
- The student is given feedback after every lesson that provides additional material, and a summarization of the lesson

That I consistently choose Lars as my teacher comes as no surprise: he's acutely aware of verbal and written nuances, knows his grammar through and through and doggedly reminds you of your mistakes to help you along the bumps on your journey to fluency and beyond.

Lars is very personable and gives you important cultural information! His style tends towards more conversational (ie: listening to/reading conversations). I prefer a style that includes introduction of individual verbs with their conjugations and I requested this of Lars on the third lesson. He immediately reformatted our lessons to include this aspect, which shows how adaptable he is to student needs! Since I am learning German for a trip, he is focusing on aspects that I might encounter: ordering in a cafe, shopping at markets/stores, etc. Lars corrects your pronunciation and grammar in written and spoken form so that you will be understood by native speakers. He is direct, but exceptionally polite as well!

Lars is an excellent conversation partner. He has an impressive ability to keep the conversation flowing and engaging without seeming either to control it or to put the pressure on the student. When I started iTalki I worried about filling an entire hour with second-language chat, but our lessons fly by. His corrections are targeted and encouraging.
