Hi everyone! My name is Yuni, and I am a native Japanese speaker from Nara, Japan. I moved to Kentucky, U.S., in 2016 and have been teaching Japanese online since 2020.
I am passionate about languages and understand the joys and challenges of learning a new one. In addition to Japanese and English, I speak conversational Hebrew, Mandarin Chinese, and Spanish, and I also know some Arabic, Hindi, and French.
My lessons are friendly, flexible, and tailored to your needs—whether you’re a complete beginner or looking to refine your skills. I strive to create a safe and welcoming space where everyone can enjoy learning at their own pace.عني كمعلّم
As a foreign language learner myself, I truly understand how exciting yet challenging it can be to learn a new language. I have experienced the struggles of confidence in speaking. Because of this, I can help you overcome your weaknesses in a way that feels encouraging and effective.

Yuni Sensei is amazing. She is from Japan, but has lived in Kentucky for the last several years. She is equally fluent in Japanese and English, which is a very rare and valuable thing. I learned so much with her in such a short period of time. 5 out of 5. Would recommend!

Yuni-san and I went through a few bible verses and the Lord's prayer this morning. Yuni-san was very patient and active in explaining each phrase to me. She also kindly prepared a separate document to share with me for my learning. It was a fun and productive lesson! :-) Thank you Yuni-san!

The Sensei/Teacher is very detail and has lots of reading materials, I really enjoy her strategy on how to acquire a new language like Japanese. She teaches in a very fun and easy way.

I've had two reading lessons with Yuni now and she's been an excellent teacher - she's been very patient, is good at explaining things on my level, and asks good questions about the text that seem to be at the right level for me, testing my knowledge a bit and making sure I'm picking up nuances that are definitely helping with my understanding.
Thanks Yuni and I look forward to more reading lessons :)

Sensei/Teacher is amazing, she is very detail about Japanese grammar and pronunciation. I think she is one of the best teachers on iTalki, because she is very professional and wants to see results and improvements.
