Hey! Today is a great day to learn and improve, let's do it together :)
Learning is a journey that is different for everybody. When I was little, my father noticed that I had trouble reading because I had a different learning style. He bought me a computer game called Abrapalabra, specifically designed to encourage kids' literacy. We played it at home together and I fell in love with Spanish since that day.
Two decades later, I became a Spanish teacher and a freelance content creator and translator. I'm also studying publicity at Universidad Peruana de Ciencias Aplicadas to become a copywriter.
We all learn differently, and we all possess the potential to achieve our goals.
For me, teaching is always a win-win situation. Teaching little kids has taught me to be more patient, while some of my adult students have taught me with their progress that persistence and dedication always pay off.
My objective as your teacher is to help you learn the Spanish that will allow you to successfully face any situation you may encounter, whether that is an interview, an exam, a social event: I want you to reach your own learning goals. I expect students to be patient with themselves and have the willingness to learn.
My lessons consist of writing, speaking, listening and visual activities. I’m competent in a variety of themes so we can focus on daily/cultural topics or more business/educational oriented themes.

Melyssa is a truly excellent teacher who has helped me significantly improve my Spanish speaking as well as writing, with proven results. I needed to take the ACTFL Oral Proficiency Interview for work and was stuck in the Intermediate level for three attempts before learning about iTalki. After signing up and taking weekly lessons with Melyssa I retook the exam this month and finally received an Advanced rating. I have never felt more confident in my ability to communicate in Spanish and this sense of accomplishment is in large part to the instruction I've received from Melyssa. I cannot recommend her enough for anyone and everyone looking to improve their Spanish speaking abilities for personal or professional reasons.

After taking Spanish classes for just over a year on I-talki with one teacher alone, I finally decided to open myself up to learning from other teachers, which has been hugely beneficial. Amongst the excellent teachers that I have studied with, I would have say that I have learned more from Melyssa than anyone (and I have had several excellent teachers on I-talki). Melyssa is a committed and serious teacher, who challenges me to do my best work, at the same time, she is generous in spirit, understanding and unfailingly, she is patient with me. If you are truly invested in improving upon your Spanish, I highly recommend Melyssa for your consideration. Regarding the class structure, we cover all aspects of Spanish, from writing, conversation, grammar and listening. Our conversations are always followed up with many (!) corrections, which are reviewed step by step with additional examples and explanations. I have learned sooo much with Melyssa, and there is much more to come. Superb!

If you are looking for a teacher to help you with grammar, look no further! Melyssa is great for helping you better understand Spanish grammar - even if you are still a beginner. My Spanish has improved greatly through her classes!
