Hola, ¿qué tal? Soy Matías👋. I'm a Spanish tutor certified by International House Buenos Aires with over 10 years of 1-1 and group teaching experience. Whether you've already started exploring the Spanish jungle or you're considering paying it a visit, I'm here to join you. My intention is to show you that behind the seeming chaos, everything makes sense. You have what it takes, my friend! It'll be great to join you in your Spanish learning adventure. I know we haven't met, and I know there are hundreds of tutors on this platform to choose from. It's not always easy to make a decision, I know from my own experience as a student, but here's the thing: if you read through my profile and get the impression that we might be a good fit, chances are we actually will be. Try your luck! I've done my best to capture the essence of my teaching here, but the real picture only comes to life once we start working together. The most important takeaway is: I'm as invested in your success as you. My goal is to build a long-term cooperative relationship with you, where learning is the natural result of establishing a friendly connection with each other.

I believe the real joy of learning a language shows when you take ownership of your learning journey. Of course, I can provide clear explanations and effective practice recommendations, but I strive to go beyond just that. My priority is to create a space where you feel supported, comfortable, and accountable for your progress. In my view, having an open and friendly tutor-student relationship plays a great part in that. I promise you the time we'll spend together will be worth! I host a podcast for Spanish learners, as well as a website and a YouTube channel dedicated to insights into Argentinian Spanish and Argentinian culture.

Neuroscience applied to teaching - Asociación Educar para el Desarrollo Humano - 2018During 2017 and the first part of 2018 I completed a training course on Neuropsychoeducation, that is, Neuroscience applied to learning. It was an eye opening insight into how we react to new experiences and how we process information. Ever since then, I've applied the knowledge acquired to my language teaching.

Spanish Teaching Training Course - International House Buenos Aires - 2013I made this training course in one of Buenos Aires' best language schools. It was designed to give ELE teachers a comprehensive background into language teaching. We got practice straight away with foreign students and the experience was both valuable and useful in terms of the knowledge they shared and advice and suggestions given.

Upon graduation I worked as an attorney for some years but I'm currently not doing any law-related work, except those involving language teaching. I have regular classes and courses with foreign law students or people related to the 'legal world'.

English TeacherAnglo School - Buenos Aires, الأرجنتينFormerly a student in my school days, until I moved in to Córdoba I was an English teacher here. I used to have regular courses of students aged 9-18 and I'd tutor the older ones to sit for FCE exams. I also teach adults, tailoring my classes to fit their needs. I have a great time switching to my "English self" for a few hour every day. Since we've moved to Córdoba, my courses have stayed virtual.

2014 - 2022

Spanish TeacherAnglo School - Buenos Aires, الأرجنتينI decided I wanted to teach Spanish after living for 6 months in Brazil. While living there I had the chance to teach Spanish to hotel staff and felt it was exactly what I wanted to do wherever I was. Once I was properly trained, we included Spanish as a Foreign Language as part of the course offers. We've had students coming to study, but most of all, over the Internet, and well before the pandemic hit!

Matías is an excellent teacher with a great personality. It is so easy to talk to him and I have never had a boring lesson or conversation with him.
