I struggled a little bit more today but thankfully Aiko was very patient and encouraging as I worked through the grammar. I’m excited to be able to ask people why and give my own reasons as well!

It was our first lesson since I moved to Japan and I am so happy to be learning with Aiko again. She is so kind and gives wonderful advice for what words to use in both formal and conversational settings. I’ve been in Japan for almost three months, she thankfully reviewed phrases with me and I’m excited to keep going further

This was my last lesson with Aiko before moving to Japan. I am very grateful that we reviewed introductions, how to ask where things are and how to ask for food recommendations. I’m very nervous and excited for my first few weeks in Japan and I honestly feel confident with some of my basics that I believe I’ll be able to communicate fairly well as I practice, study and get better. I can’t wait for my first lesson in Japan!

I struggled a bit with speaking today but Aiko was patient with me and encouraged me to continue practicing. By the end of the lesson I felt I had a better grasp. I’m looking forward to putting it to use with my Japanese coworkers and practicing with my roommate at home

Today we learned how to say good at something or bad at something. Aiko also explained the cultural context of how to say it, who not to say it to and why to change it. I appreciate the time taken to explain the context of what we were learning about because I really want to make the effort to understand and be polite while in Japan. Aiko did a great job explaining and I look forward to practicing on my own and in our next lesson
