My name is Mayu, a Japanese teacher based in Sapporo. As well as teaching Japanese, I practiced traditional Japanese tea ceremony for four years at university. I’m looking forward to getting to know you and speaking Japanese together! わたしは、真由です＾＾札幌に住んでいます。 人と話すことも好きなので、授業での新しい出会いを楽しみにしております。 Attaining accreditation at the Institute of International Education in London for the teaching of Japanese as a foreign language I am qualified not only to teach Japanese to non-native speakers but I am fully qualified teacher in Japan, working in for almost two years in my hometown of Sapporo, Hokkaido. I am happy to take on students at any point in their journey into the Japanese language, from beginners to advanced learners and create a comprehensive and tailored approach to each individual’s needs and goals. I believe that in order to improve your Japanese, the most important thing is that you are able to enjoy the learning process and have fun in the class! I make and prepare all of my lesson materials, though I have almost every reputable text book on hand if you have a particular book or course you wish to follow. Wonderful lesson with Mayu as always! I have been taking lessons with Mayu for about 2 years now and she has taken me from beginner to N3 material. She expertly combines textbooks, her own teaching materials, and conversation to level up my Japanese. She is patient, encouraging, relatable, and easy to talk to. Thank you Mayu!

I have quite a few lessons with Mayu sensei and they have been extremely helpful. I feel like I get something substantial in every class. She is also super patient and will answer any question I may have as well. She has materials and homework to share as well. I highly recommend Mayu sensei as a teacher.

Mayu is a very caring teacher with a lot of knowledge beyond typical Japanese. We often study nuances and speech that actual Japanese people use! She exercises patience and caters teaching and learning towards each student!
