I have been a language teacher for more than 25 years, I love to meet people from around the globe and show a bit of my culture. I was born and raised in Mexico, but moved to Canada and lived in Toronto for five years. Not only that, but I enjoy travelling and discover this wonderful world. Furthermore, I have visited almost all of my country, Mexico, and also I have been to distant places like China, Thailand, Dubai, India, Australia, Costa Rica Europe, Cuba, USA and Canada.
I am a mother of a 10-year-old boy and my hobbies are cooking, meditation and exercise.عني كمعلّم
I am an experienced English & Spanish teacher. I am passionate about helping people to understand and communicate in Spanish.
I personalize the program to your needs and special requirements. Likewise, I like to use real-life materials and examples and guide you into lots of practice. I focus on drills and examples, then conversation, listening skills and then writing.
I have extensive experience working as a Certified Accountant in large corporations, and I have taught Spanish to business executives from different nationalities. I know about finance, marketing, accounting, and sales. I have also taught Mexican business protocol. دروسي وأسلوب تدريسي
My teaching style is relaxed, friendly, mostly conversational, I focus on communication first, so you feel confident in the new language, then we review grammar, listening and writing.

I have been studying with Yolanda since January 2024, and she has been one of the most impactful teachers I have ever had. I found her at an A2 level, after self-studying grammar, and I was looking for someone who could truly push me forward. Nearly two-thirds of my Spanish journey has been with her, and it has been the most transformative part.
Yolanda is extremely well organized and prepared for every lesson. Her classes are structured, purposeful, and motivating, while still making space for real conversation and real life. Even when I arrived less prepared, she met me where I was and encouraged steady progress.
After two years with Yolanda, I am now at a strong intermediate–advanced level, preparing for the SIELE exam, and able to hold meaningful conversations with native speakers. I highly recommend her to anyone serious about learning Spanish.

It is so great to chat with Yolanda. She has an easy-going personality, and she is a great teacher, who gently steers the conversation always in the right direction. I come out of a session with Yolanda feeling more relaxed speaking Spanish than when I went in. Highly recommended.
