Hi! I'm Bertil. I speak English and Dutch fluently—English daily with my American wife and at work, Dutch with family and fellow Nederlanders. I work as a Cybersecurity Analyst at a European bank and hold CISSP and OSCP certifications. This lets me offer something unique: English lessons for IT/security professionals. Need technical vocabulary, help with certification exams, or professional writing skills? I teach both the language and the context. I also love helping with general conversation in Dutch or English—everyday topics, vocabulary building, gaining confidence. Whatever your goal, I'm here to help. We can discuss various topics, read texts together, or work on specific skills—whatever helps you most.For general learners: Practice everyday conversation, expand vocabulary, improve fluency. I'll correct mistakes and help you sound more natural in Dutch or English. For cybersecurity/IT professionals: We work with real materials—threat intelligence reports, CVE descriptions, certification exam questions, incident report templates. You learn the language in the same context you'll use it at work. I personally really like talking to Bart! This is almost my 10th chat with him and every time he is helpful and patient. Highly recommend to folks who are A2 level. A1 might struggle a bit because you may not have the vocabulary and/or grammar to express what you want or to understand/hear what is being said.

Bertil is an absolutely amazing teacher! Our Dutch conversational classes are the highlight of my week. He is incredibly helpful with a deep knowledge of so many different topics. He is always friendly, well informed and genuinely wise, which makes our classes resemble a meeting between 2 friends having a great, interesting chat. It is a perfect mix of sometimes going really deep into serious topics and other times just having a nice, friendly conversation. I highly recommend his classes to anyone who wants to learn in a truly professional yet friendly atmosphere!
