I am a journalist and a qualified teacher, having completed the Program Routes in teaching Modern Greek, conducted by the Center for the Greek language. I also have worked for 20+ years as a journalist. I like walking in nature and traveling. I have been to London, Toronto, Washington D.C., Maryland, and Kuşadası; I have visited many Greek islands. I'm interested in psychology and spiritual life. I love children and their way of seeing the world. My favorite genres of books are children's and memoirs. I love teaching. As a tutor, I'm patient and encouraging yet strict. However, I don't let any rule I have set prevent us from having fun. I have worked as a Greek Second Language Tutor for the last six years after I quit my job as a journalist and a digital editor with magazines and newspapers. Since 2023, I have been back to journalism, yet teaching keeps making me happy. I give Greek lessons to English speakers of B1 level and above.دروسي وأسلوب تدريسي
As a language tutor, I use a variety of sources, and I love technology with all the fantastic tools it provides us these days. My favorite ones are LearningApps, and Educaplay. I also use my own YouTube videos on grammar, structure, listening, and vocabulary. البكالوريوس - Teaching Greek as a second/foreign languageI've been teaching foreigners to learn and speak Greek for the last seven years, on the side of my main job as a writer at websites of AlterEgo Media in Greece. The one-year program "Routes in the teaching of Greek as a second/foreign language" is conducted by the Center of the Greek Language and professors in University of Thessaloniki, and get teachers and other uni graduates certified as qualified tutors.

Fantastic class! We practised my reading skills and Joanne helped me improve it tremendously. She went quite a bit overtime, but she didn't want me to stop. Thank you so much! The class is always fun and time flies like crazy with her.
