My name is Alma and I'm Swiss. I grew up in Basel (close to the German border), so my Swiss accent is fairly neutral. As a Swiss person I might even speak a bit more slowly than the average German speaker (- just feeding a Swiss stereotype here... :))
I've been a German teacher for 13 years. In my main job I work with teenagers at a secondary school, but teaching teenagers and adults on italki has become something of a hobby for me and I enjoy meeting people and learning about their culture. I spend my spare time playing music, learning languages, traveling (especially to Scotland - my favourite country), reading, cooking and baking.

I'm a highly experienced, empathic and very patient teacher with a great sense of humour. I'll do my best to try and make you feel comfortable and to create a confidence-boosting atmosphere during our lessons.
Please note that I only teach conversation lessons and reading lessons to adults and teenagers at the moment. Unfortunately I have limited time capacity and therefore can't offer any beginner or grammar lessons. I'm also unable to teach kids. I'll provide you with a google document, which we're going to use as a "work instrument", to do exercises and create vocabulary lists. Depending on your preferences, I'll correct your mistakes during the lesson or I'll send you written corrections after the lesson.5.0

If you are looking for a great lecturer, then Alma is the right choice for you. We cooperated for several months and she is always super ready for the lesson, the lessons are funny and complement each other. They also pursue a clear goal, to teach the student the language. Thanks to her, I already speak German :)

Mein Unterricht mit Alma macht so viel Spaß. Ich lerne viel, gewinne Selbsvertrauen beim Sprechen und sie gibt mir gute Lernressourcen. Ich kann sie sehr empfehlen.

Since having lessons with Alma, i can tell my listening comprehension has dramatically improved. The class is a very fun experience with everything you would ever need. Reading, writing, speaking, listening. Overall an amazing experience. Thanks very much :)
