Hi! I'm Mena, I'm 29 and I'm from southern Italy. I'm a native Italian speaker and I speak English. I understand French and I'm learning Spanish and Korean, so I know how challenging learning a language can be. I love travelling, cooking, baking and discovering new food. In my free time I enjoy sewing, reading and watching movies.
Ciao! Sono Mena, ho 29 anni e vengo dal sud Italia. Sono madrelingua italiana e parlo inglese. Capisco il francese e sto imparando spagnolo e coreano, quindi capisco quanto può essere difficile imparare una lingua. Amo viaggiare, cucinare, fare dolci e scoprire nuovi piatti. I know how hard it is to learn a new language, especially by yourself. I've been teaching here for over 4 years and have experience with students of all levels. My lessons are personalized for each student depending on your goals. I like to create a positive, supportive environment where students feel comfortable and motivated.

I will craft my classes based on your needs and we'll decide all the topics together, so we can have conversations about things you like. I also use TV series, movies, songs, books, worksheets, and exercises to help you practice in a fun and effective way. We can also focus on grammar, vocabulary, and anything else you need to learn and improve.
Le lezioni saranno strutturate in base ai tuoi bisogni e insieme decideremo gli argomenti da trattare e avere conversazioni sulle cose che preferisci. Uso anche serie TV, film, canzoni, libri, schede ed esercizi per praticare in modo divertente ed efficace. Mean has been more than a language instructor. She taught me Italian culture, history, and shared a few recipes with me. After learning the basics, she focused on the things I wanted to learn. Asking for directions and understanding the responses, asking about items on a menu and for recommendations, and even explaining Italian traffic signs, laws and driving tips. In just a few months, Mena has taken me for knowing zero Italian to a B1 level. I look forward to continuing my Italian journey under Mena’s tutelage.

Mena is an amazing Italian tutor! She is very friendly and patient, has great resources for learning, makes a constant effort to keep the lessons in Italian, and also gives you ample time to speak and think. She is also really flexible with lesson plans, so if you have an idea of the conversation topics or grammar areas you want to work on she is very open to working on those areas. With each lesson, my ability to speak and, more importantly, my confidence increase significantly! Grazie mille, Mena!

Today was my first lesson with Mena. I could not be more pleased. Previously I’ve had lessons for other languages with different teachers. They always made me feel uncomfortable and pressured. Mena was completely the opposite. She made me feel totally comfortable and never embarrassedhh despite my many mistakes. I’m looking forward to future lessons.

She is very nice, and it was a pleasure to converse. I am traveling to Italy soon, and she was patient and let me speak in Italian to practice and asked me questions. Very clearly spoken and helped me if I had questions!
