Hello! I am a 29 years old biologist living in Oslo. I've always been passionate about languages, and I have extensive experience teaching Norwegain as a foreign language both here on the platform and also as a teacher at the Norwegian University of Life Sciences (NMBU) . As a biologist I love talking about natural sciences and plants, but I do have a wide array of hobbies such as climbing, travelling, food and culture, plants and more. As a dedicated language instructor, I bring a relaxed yet engaging teaching style to my lessons. I believe that learning should be enjoyable, and I am always excited to delve into interesting topics that captivate my students' interest. I prioritize customizing my teaching approach to suit the unique needs and goals of each individual learner.
Drawing from my own experiences as a language learner on platforms like italki, I have a good understanding of what a student might value in a teacher. Mads is an amazing teacher. I've been practicing Norwegian with him for a year, and I've made great progress.
He's very helpful, attentive, and friendly. The lessons feel like meeting a friend for coffee:) which helps get rid of any fears of speaking or making a mistake.
One of the things I like best (as a teacher myself) is how Mads works with mistakes - he doesn't just correct them, but asks the student to do it first. This method makes you remember much better than if the teacher just corrects everything for you.

Mads has built my confidence to speak Norwegian after only a couple of lessons. He is a great conversation partner and fun to talk to as well. I was almost too nervous to speak before our first lesson, but we had a great conversation which fit my needs. He can also suggest better ways to say certain sentences and helps with grammar. Highly recommend!

I enjoyed the conversation really much even though my Norwegian isn't really good. He is very patient and nice teacher. Before the lesson I was stressed a bit because it was my first time speaking Norwegian to anyone but then I totally chilled out. I recommend him really much
