Hello, I am Joshua. I am Dutch, but I have been living in China for 11 years. In China I found out the importance of learning languages. But I also found out the most important part of learning a language is finding the confidence to speak in that language. You just need to have fun and learn.
Hallo, mijn naam is Joshua. Ik kom uit Nederland, maar woon in China. Hier in China heb ik geleerd dat als je een vreemde taal wil leren je de durf nodig hebt om te spreken. Boeken lezen en gramatica studeren is belangrijk, maar als je niet durft te spreken is het moeilijk om te verbeteren. Dus kom en leer Nederlands.عني كمعلّم
Here in China I found a lot of people, both kids and adults that wanted to speak or learn from foreigners. As such I slowly learned how to teach people. Now I feel confident to teach English as well as Dutch. Teaching is a lot of fun to me, seeing students grow from beginners into full native speakers is great. As such I want to teach more people here on Italki.
Hier in China zijn er veel mensen die Engels willen leren. Zij vroegen mij of ik hen kon helpen omdat ik een buitenlander was. Daarom ben ik gaan nadenken hoe ik hen zou kunnen helpen. Nu 11 jaar later ben ik er zeker van dat ik mensen kan helpen om een vreemde taal te leren. Ik hou ervan om leerlingen te zien groeien in een taal. دروسي وأسلوب تدريسي
My classes will be fully in English or Dutch. This way you will need to speak more from the start. I usually first try to find out the student's level and interests. After that I can make sure I find topics and materials that will be just right for you. But most important I want you to have fun learning, so you will stay motivated.
Mijn lessen zijn volledig in het Nederlands of Engels. Dit zorgt ervoor dat jij meer Nederlands of Engels spreekt vanaf de eerste les. Ook vind ik het belangrijk om te weten hoe goed jou taalgebruik is en waar jij geintereseerd in bent. Met die informatie kan ik mijn lessen afstemmen op jouw niveau en interesses.

Joshua is both fun and professional! Would highly recommend. I've been working through a textbook and we complete the spoken portions of the unit together. I'm finding the experience rigorous, even though we meet only for half an hour at a time!

He is very patient, clear, and supportive. The lessons are easy to understand and very practical for daily life and work. I feel a bit more confident speaking Dutch because of these lessons. Highly recommend him to anyone who wants to learn Dutch in a comfortable way and for effective conversation practice.
