Greetings, language enthusiasts! I'm Thomas, your dedicated English teacher on a mission to transform language learning into an inspiring and fulfilling journey. Here are a few key aspects about me:
I am from Ireland.
Holder of a Masters degree in Language Education.
Certified IELTS exam preparation teacher.
Teaching Experience: Accumulated 5 years of experience instructing four languages (English, French, Spanish, and Irish) across three countries (Ireland, France, Spain) through both online and traditional classroom settings.
Well-versed in teaching all age groups
A native English speaker with neutral, easily understandable accent. Additionally fluent in Irish(C2), Spanish(C1) & French(B2)عني كمعلّم

TEFL Exam Preparation Course - TEFL Org - 2023I had to complete a 40 hour course in exam preparation. I had to understand English language exams; analyse and assess a range of English language exams; understand effective teaching of exam preparation lessons. I had to demonstrate everything I had learnt in the course in a final assessment where I had to make and design interactive exam preparation lesson plans which were graded by an external examiner.
Professional Masters of Education - University College Cork - 2022I had to complete two years of a University masters program. I studied second language teaching and acquisition. I had to do work experience in two different secondary schools (1 year in each) teaching languages to students between the ages of 12-18. Having finished the degree, I am fully qualified to teach secondary school children foreign languages.

It aims to produce graduates with sought-after language skills, as well as an understanding of language as a system and of the cultures of the languages studied.
2020 - 2022
الماجستير - Professional Masters of Education (Secondary School / Post-Primary Teacher Training)The Professional Master of Education (PME) at UCC is a two-year, level 9, full-time teacher education course. This 120-credit programme is designed to qualify graduates as post-primary secondary school teachers.
Our PME is fully recognised and accredited by the Teaching Council of Ireland for the purpose of registration as a professional post-primary teacher in Ireland and the EU.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND Thomas for anyone who wants to practice oral English on italki! I have had 5 conversations with him and I really think that he is one of the best teachers I have ever met. He always pays attention to your speaking and corrects your pronunciation, grammar and expressions. BTW, you also don't need to worry about embarrassment because he always has prepared today's topic and encourages you to practice more!

Thomas is an excellent teacher who truly cares about his students. He is always attentive during lessons, carefully noting any mistakes you make and addressing them afterward in a constructive way, which makes you remember new words even after the class. He’s encouraging and makes you feel comfortable; can easily engage in any conversation and is always prepared with additional materials. He is also very responsive and has consistently helped me with any extra questions, not only about the English language but also about Irish culture.
