My name is Alisha. I am an outdoor enthusiast who loves traveling in search of new experiences. Learning something new about the world, especially different cultures, fascinates me. My dream is to see the world, and meeting people from different destinations is part of that dream. Until I reach that goal, I look forward to meeting students from various backgrounds who can teach me what they love about their culture through learning English online.
When I'm not teaching, I enjoy listening to music, writing, hiking, photography, art, horseback riding, and reading, to name a few, for the list of my interests is ever-growing.

Learning is a process that never stops. As educators, our job is to facilitate learning as a guide. My philosophy as a teacher is to help guide students toward success and ensure they take full advantage of their unique skills and abilities. In a classroom, students learn best when they are relaxed, enjoying themselves, and engaging with meaningful and thoughtfully provided material based on their learning needs. Students will target goals while assessing weak areas, including grammar, pronunciation, writing, reading, and listening skills, and most importantly, while having fun in an engaging environment!دروسي وأسلوب تدريسي
I use a communicative language teaching approach (CLT), which allows students to learn from their conversations surrounding their interests, hobbies, work environment, or targeted goals. New vocabulary will be introduced; new grammar is observed and practiced while the student is engaged by the topic they have chosen. I look to use my skills over the past years of teaching to bring education and enthusiasm back to the classroom. Additionally, a teaching certificate was included in the Master's degree program for teaching English to adults in business and working in a business setting.

IELTS Teacher Training Certification - Cambridge Learning - 2021This course trains teachers to be prepared for teaching IELTS test preparation to students. It covers the four tested areas: Reading, Listening, Writing, and Speaking. Teachers who have completed this training have a better understanding of student needs and gauging student levels.

Cambridge IELTS Certification - Cambridge English - 2021The certification involved 25 hours of courses through the Cambridge Teaching Certification Program offered online. Underscoring test preparation for IELTS and other similar testing methodological application to the CAE, CPE, TOEFL, etc. Each course offered an in-depth analysis of teaching Writing, Reading, Speaking, & Listening techniques and testing formats. Additionally, the Master's in FIne Arts focused on professional business writing, applicable to test taking.

This degree has helped me learn how to teach grammar through writing and reading, while focusing on the educational development of my students needs. الماجستير - Master's in Fine Arts & Creative WritingMy Master's in Fine Art and Create Writing (MFA) focuses on writing technique, general fiction writing, storytelling, and content writing. In addition, this MFA is combined with a higher-education teacher certificate to teach writing at the university-level. The MFA delved into blogging, content writing for business and social media, generalized fiction pertaining to character development, storytelling, genre studies, and culture.

TutorClasses were taught to international students one-on-one, focusing on preparing them for essay writing, English examinations, presentations, and interviews. Students were given homework, were taught reading tricks and tips, and practiced general speaking, reading, writing, and listening skills. Students engaged with advanced workbooks and worksheets created by me to ensure their continued growth and success.
2019 - 2021
TeacherI led independent discussions with students while improving their English scores. Students were given homework, lesson tasks and learned through a PPP approach common to Japanese classroom standards. CLT theory was applied for students to learn in a real-world and applicable setting. Students engaged with the teacher to learn new grammar, test preparation skills, and improve fluency.

Alisha is the most trustworthy tutor I have ever met. She helped me achieve a TOEFL score of 98, guiding me step-by-step from being a complete beginner in English to where I am now. Her support went beyond just preparing me for the exam; she played a crucial role in helping me gain admission to the graduate school I wanted.
I particularly struggled with writing. Back in China, the education system doesn’t focus much on English writing, so I was still at a very basic level. I used to spend two hours writing just a 200-word essay! Alisha patiently taught me how to structure essays, improve my writing skills, and craft a strong statement of purpose. Her teaching didn’t just help me with my current application but also laid a solid foundation for my future academic and professional endeavors.
