Hi, I’m Dave Watt—a passionate English teacher with over 20 years of global experience. I help students gain real confidence in speaking English for travel, work, and everyday life. I adjust my teaching style and teaching material to fit the needs of the individual student. If you want to improve your English speaking skills with a teacher who makes learning enjoyable, I’m here to guide you. Let’s explore English together!
I have specialised in English teaching at top high schools. Learning English is fascinating and fun for people of all ages. I have taught English to adults and middle school students in Tokyo; in Cape Town I have taught middle and high school students up to university entrance level. I am able to help learners with individual problems and I know how to encourage and coach them, as I have 30 years experience doing this. I have a wide knowledge of the world, having travelled in the USA, UK and Asia. I regard it as a great privilege to share my love for language and to encourage others in their learning.
My lessons are not one-size-fits-all. With over 20 years experience, I adjust my teaching style and teaching material to fit the needs of the individual student. Sometimes explanation is necessary, but I use a variety of things such as games, notes, playing roles, repetition and practice , with practical advice on how to expand your English opportunities. Dave is super nice, I loved to talk with him. I booked a lesson to know him because I need to improve my grammar and my speech and even in the first lesson he was able to check my mistakes, listened to all my doubts and helped me to plan how we can improve my English in the other lessons.
