Hello everyone, my name is Olivia. I was born and raised in Seoul and now I am currently living in Germany. So Korean is my mother tongue and I speak fluent English.
I’m learning German. So I understand what it’s like to learn a foreign language from scratch! I’d say, it’s quite challenging but also a fun and exciting journey. I hope my learners will feel the same way, learning Korean or English.

I think the most important quality as a teacher is the ability to encourage learners. Learning a language is not always easy and there are ups and downs. And it requires quite a bit of efforts and dedication. I believe that a good teacher makes learning more pleasant even when learners bump into obstacles, and makes them feel comfortable and relaxed so that they can speak without feeling nervous. So I try to be a good listener. I also try to make each class fun and helpful with enough preparation. One more thing: I teach mainly late teens~adults. I think the biggest strength of my class is that I quickly notice the different learning styles and needs of each student. I try to make the best of 1:1 tutoring by satisfying individual needs. It is ideal to improve all four skills (reading, listening, writing, speaking) but every learner is different and has different learning styles. So I try to respect the differences. Secondly, also important is having fun while learning! I try to create a relaxed atmosphere with my students so that they can speak without feeling nervous and learn by making mistakes. I highly recommend Olivia. She is very patient, encouraging and makes learning Korean fun. The lessons are customized and include homework (if desired) to review the lesson. She also gives lots of examples and explains things really well.
