Hi! I'm Stacey. I've worked as a speech pathologist in public schools and as an English teacher in Japan. My specialty in speech was articulation and fluency disorders. Now my focus is on conversational English and accent training with adults. I work primarily with upper intermediate to advanced students and my goal is to help these students feel confident and powerful in English so they can communicate in the way they want. I work to help people express themselves authentically in English so that they can speak anywhere and with anyone. I provide guidance for grammar, word choice, and pronunciation in conversational lessons so that students can learn to speak without fearing mistakes and develop new habits. Here on italki, I am best equipped to work with adult students who are at an intermediate to advanced level in English. I primarily address expanding conversational skills and refining grammar and vocabulary use. This can be for both spoken and written language. I like to include my students' interests when possible, which can mean discussing an article about a hobby or sport a student likes, studying vocabulary and phrases for an upcoming trip abroad, or practicing natural sounding pronunciation and slang. It's my goal to make language learning as fun and practical as possible. *If you request a lesson in the italki classroom, we may need to change to a zoom or Google meeting.*

Thanks a bunch for another awesome lesson! I've already had several of them and I'm really glad I've found such a nice teacher on Italki. I especially enjoy the fact that while learning with Stacey I just kill two birds with one stone - I'm able to practice interesting and thought-provoking conversations as well as work on my pronunciation and rhythm (which was my request in the first place).
